Rare Victorian Staffordshire Yeomanry Officers Busby, Lines And Tin Circa 1895
Rare Victorian Staffordshire Yeomanry Officers busby, lines and tin Circa 1895. The busby constucted of bearskin with leather linered, red silk trimmed helmet (silk fragile and frayed, the leather worn and dry and treated with Pecard). The bearskin with some slight loss/ mothing to the bottom. The aged and stained red bag with sighrt moth traces to the outer surface and slightly more to the inner surface with a couple of pin prick holes. The officers silver wire ropes are present, but some unstitching to the centra; one on the red bag. The correct, knurled, linked, silver scaled officers chin strap is present, but the leather backing worn and unstitched (treated with pecard). The complete silver wire officers lines are present (to prevent the loss of the helmet whilst riding on horse-back). The feathererd white plume is a later replacement. The helmet is complete with its original black helmet tin, with a blue painted inside. An increasingly rare to find original cavalry busby in reasonable overall condition.
