Description

A fabulous and sort after  .80 bore cased double-barrel turnover Percussion pocket pistol. Overall length approx. 6. 1/2 ins., barrels approx. 1. 3/4 ins. The barrelsretain much original finish and to a dark steel grey finish throughout with London proofs. The frame, percussion hammer trigger and trigger-guard to a silver coloured steel finish and with some decorative scroll engraving, but although of good enough quality, without a makers name. The single piece rosewood butt is in good condition with chequered grips to both sides, vacant oval brass escutcheon and diamond shaped butt cap (with a number of dings to it and the surrounding wood .  This pistol has an excellent crisp working action, but the tip of one percussion nipple is fractured.  The original wooden case is green beige lined and in good condition  other than it appears to have suffered with some damp warping to the outer upper lid and no paper trade label.  The cased set incudes an original powder flask, wooden cap tin containing a number of percussion caps, a barrel winding off tool, a metal funnel, a number of lead pistol balls and the box key.  An increasingly difficult to source cased percussion turn-over pistol in good overall condition.
