1860 Dated Tower .577 3-band Enfield rifle.  54 in overall length., round steel barrel 38.3/4in.  Barrel to a mottled grey/ brown patina with worn proof marks at the breach and open sight.  Original ramrod slung beneath the barrel.  The rifle retains its regulation brass furniture.  The lock and hammer to a dark grey patina the lock stamped with a victorian crown over the "VR" cifer and at the other side of the percussion hammer with the date "1860" over "TOWER".  The action is crisp, but there is no internal barrel rifling.  Fullstocked, there is age/ useage knocks and bruises as you would expect to see on a working British Army rifle of this period.  An incresingly scarse rifle to encounter in complete and reasonable overall condition.
