1943 dated Karl Eickhorn K-98 bayonet in steel scabbard (mis-matched numbers).  Overall length approx. 16. 1/2 in., blade length approx. 9. 3/4 in.  Double fullered, un-sharpened single edged steel blade to a dark grey/ black steel finish. Maker marked to one side of the ricasso “Karl Eickhorn” and “7904 U” on the other side. The cross-guard, pommel and muzzle release button also to a dark grey/ black finish and “8899” stamped on the cross-guard. The muzzle release button is working well.  The 2-piece brown wooden grips appear to have originally been grooved/ chequered which has been virtually removed and re-finished but otherwise in good condition.  The steel scabbard to a shiny steel finish as per the bayonet with “cof 43” stamped at the rear of the throat, “0293” stamped above the frog retaining button and “8899” actually stamped on the frog retaining button. span style=”font-family: sans-serif,arial,verdana,trebuchet ms;”>In good overall condition considering it’s age/ use.
