British Enfield 1853 Pat socket bayonet (scabbard absent). Overall length 20.1/4in., blade length 17 in. Triangular blade and the socket/ hilt are to a shiny steel patina with darker speckles of “old” rust and surface pitting throughout. A worn inspection mark is visible at the rocaso of one flat. The steel locking ring is present and working and the socket has “423” to one side. Whole in reasonable overall condition commensurate with age.
