Description
A nice example of an American M4 bayonet and scabbard as used on the M1 carbine.
Overall length approx. 12. 1/2 in., blade length approx. 6. 1/2 in. Blade to a steel grey finish and double edged for the first 3 in or so. The black guard cross-guard is stamped “US M4” over and the US bomb ordnance mark to the top surface. This is an early WW2 example (they first started to appear at the end of 1944) with its original leather grips (post war and Vietnam versions had two piece plastic grips). I believe the ww2 version’s mostly saw service in the Pacific theatre. The black finished pommel has a muzzle release catch that is working well. It is complete with a correct green bakelite type wartime scabbard “US M8A1 B.M.CO” that has slight drop damage to the tip.
In good overall/ used condition commensurate with its age.
