WW1 Barvarian Officers Sword with blued (not painted) scabbard 1898-1912 Pat. Overall length approx 38.1/2 in, blade length approx. 33 In. Chrome single edged, double fullered blade with etched into both sides "In Trene Fest" in banners around a sprig of holly. There is one "old" rust or similar where the chrome is absent approx. 1inch from the crossguard. The integral single knuckle bow/ cross-guardretains the majority of it's gilt finish with some loss at the pommel. The fish-skin grip is complete and in good condition, retained by twisted brass wire. The steel scabbard retains 90+% of its original blued finish (not painted) and its single original suspension loop, but the top throat chape is now absent. Other than the slight defects mentioned, a good example in good overall condition for its age.
