Description
WW1 Canadian Ross Bayonet officially converted to a trench knife, in it's brown leather scabbard and frog. Overall length 14.1/4 in., pointed blade length 8in. Single edged shiny steel blade converted to a "Bowie" knife and with much signs of coarse sharpening to both sides and some slight "old" rust darkening in places. The cross guard also to a shiny steel finish with the mussle ring now removed. The original mussle release button etc absent with the pommel officially shortened. The two-piece wooden grips are present and in good condition. The dark brown/ black leather covered steel scabbard and integral leather frog are in good condition. The lower steel chape is still present and the lower inside of the scabbard variously stamped; Whole in good overall condition commensurate with age.
