.65 bore French 1857 Dated ST. ETTIENE percussion carbine. Overall length 40 in., barrel 24.1/2in., Fullstocked with regulation brass and steel mounts, barrel Lock plate with makers name and “De ST Ettiene”. The barrel, lock-plate, barrel, ramrod and sling swivels etc to a shiny steel grey/ brown finish with little in the way and “S 1866” over “M L” stamped at the breach. The stock with a minor hairline crack to the fore-end of the lock. The beautiful wooden stock in good condition itself and there are various inspection marks throughout the metalwork.
Very good overall condition commensurate with age.
